One of the best parts of the cruise that Brian and I took last month was the excursions. One or two times a day there were excursions on zodiac boats to see some gorgeous places.
On our first full day on the cruise ship, we entered Alberto de Agostini National Park, traveled through Almirantazgo Sound, and stopped in Ainsworth Bay where we boarded zodiac boats and headed to land for a hike.
That afternoon we boarded the zodiacs again and visited the Tucker Islets, seeing many cormorants and Magellanic penguins.
One of the most beautiful places we visited was the Pía fjord and glacier.
We went to Wulaia Bay, a place Charles Darwin had visited.
At the end of each excursion, the crew served hot chocolate, with the option of adding whiskey! It doesn’t sound like whiskey and hot chocolate would taste very good, but as one of the elderly passengers told Brian, “Try it! It’s delicious!” That passenger knew what he was talking about too – he had skipped the hike and hung back with crew who kept refilling his hot chocolate and whiskey all morning!
This is a truly amazing part of the world!
